Better than the basic vest we had

Our old jacket floated his body but his head still dipped when he got tired. This one feels like it was designed around the actual problem instead of just adding foam around the dog.

Lake days feel less stressful now

Our corgi loves chasing everyone into the water but has short legs and gets tired quicker than she realizes. The jacket stayed secure and gave her enough support that we were not constantly panicking when she swam away from the shore.

Good peace of mind

Not magic and you obviously still need to watch your dog, but it gives our older pup extra help when she gets tired. That's exactly what we needed.

Worth paying more than a regular dog life jacket

I hesitated because there are much cheaper dog life jackets online. Most of the ones I looked at seemed nearly identical thoughβ€”foam around the body, a bright color, and not much thought given to what happens when the dog becomes tired or starts swallowing water. Our Frenchie is very front-heavy, so support around his face was the feature I actually cared about. We tested this in the shallow end first and slowly let him get comfortable. The vest supported his body while the front section helped him maintain a better swimming position. He was calmer, we were calmer, and getting him out of the water was much less stressful. For us the extra cost made sense because the design addresses the reason we wanted a life jacket in the first place.

Measure your dog first

Fit was good after we adjusted it, just make sure you actually measure and don't guess based only on weight. Once it was fitted properly it stayed in place and my dog could still move his legs normally.

Finally found something for our nervous swimmer

My little dachshund has never been confident around deep water. She does that frantic upright paddling where her front paws splash everywhere and her face slowly drops lower, so taking her near the lake always made me nervous. Regular dog vests gave her some buoyancy, but they did not give her much support around the head. The ChinRest style made a very noticeable difference for her. She was still cautious, but her body looked more level and she was not fighting so hard to keep her mouth above the surface. We still supervise her every second and would never treat a life jacket as a replacement for watching her, but this gave both of us much more confidence.

He actually kept it on!!

My dog usually freezes or tries to bite at anything we put on him. With a little treat bribery he wore this without a problem and was running around normally before we even reached the pool. Very happy with it :)

Surprisingly comfortable

I expected the front float to bother him but he adjusted to it pretty fast. He could walk around, jump onto the dock and swim without looking stiff or restricted. Took us a few minutes to get the straps set the first time, after that it was easy.

The chin rest makes the difference

Our dog can paddle, but once she gets tired her nose starts getting dangerously close to the water. The support under her chin is the main reason we chose this instead of a normal life jacket. She looked much more balanced and we felt a lot calmer letting her swim beside us.

First bath where I didn't end up soaked

Our cockapoo used to scramble the second his paws hit the wet tub. With his legs through the openings he just sat there and let me rinse him. I washed him with both hands for the first time ever.

We do baths outside now

Set it up on the patio with the hose and it stayed planted the whole time. The mesh drains so fast there was never a puddle under him, and it dried in the sun before I brought it back in.

Grooming days got a lot shorter

Our poodle needs a proper wash every couple of weeks and the shower used to be a two-person job. She stands still on the mesh now, which means I can actually work the shampoo through her coat instead of holding her in place. It is not magic and she still gives me a look the whole time, but she has stopped trying to climb out and that alone changed bath day for us.

Great for a long back

Our dachshund hated being lifted in and out of a slippery tub. This supports her whole body evenly so she is not twisting. Only note is you should check the legs are fully locked before you put your dog on it.

Sturdier than it looks folded up

It packs down small enough to live behind the door, but once it is open it does not wobble at all with our corgi on it. Feet grip the deck boards and the tile equally well.

Drying is the part it really fixed

Everyone talks about the washing, but the towel-off afterwards was always the chaos in our house. Our pug would bolt the second he touched the floor. Keeping him on the hammock while I dry him means no wet sprint down the hallway.

Survives the shake

He does the full body shake mid-bath every single time and the stand did not shift or tip. The mesh came off easily for a rinse afterwards, which I did not expect at this price.

Bought it for the dog, use it for the cat

Washing our kitten used to mean claws in my forearm. With nothing to push off from she just stayed put and let me work. Still a one-person job with a lot of treats afterwards, but a calm one now.
